Accessible Recreation

The Township of Scugog strives to create an inclusive environment where all people can participate in recreational activities. The recreation staff partner with many organizations to offer financial assistance and inclusion services.

The Township of Scugog is a proud Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program partner. This program helps children (ages 4-18) from families in financial need participate in sport and recreation. What kids do is up to them; JumpStart is here to help them do it.

View the Grant Application Guidelines to see if you qualify for funding and complete the online application.

Call 1-844-YES-PLAY for more information. For assistance, contact recreation@scugog.ca.

The Port Perry Chapter of the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program raises funds to help us offer affordable recreation programs. View the Township of Scugog's Leisure Guide for a list of Jumpstart programs in our community.

Their Opportunity exists to support underserviced families with the means to enroll their children into local sports and recreation programs. Their Opportunity hosts a unique Giveback Program where children receiving funding are required to “pay it forward” within their community.

How to apply:

  • Review the Leisure and Activity guide to find a program your child(ren) are interested in and note our registration dates to avoid disappointment.
  • Complete an Application for Funding online with Their Opportunity.

You may need extra support if:

  • Extra support is used at school
  • Extra help is needed at home for basic care
  • You have a physical, medical, behavioral and/or developmental disability that could affect your safety or ability to participate

The Township of Scugog has the right to remove participants from a program if they cannot follow the code of conduct. The Township of Scugog Refund Policy will apply.
