Land Division

Land Division, also known as Land Severance or Consent, involves the division of a piece of land resulting in the creation of a new lot. Land Division can also adjust boundaries between properties or register easements. 

For proposals which will result in the creation of three or more lots, a Plans of Subdivision application is generally required. 

Applying for a Land Division 

The Durham Region Land Division Committee approves Land Division applications for properties in the Township of Scugog. Township staff comment on these applications with respect to their compliance with Scugog's Official Plan, Zoning By-law and other Township standards.
